It’s still a little early here in Michigan for fishing on the local lake. But that couldn’t stop us from trying something I’ve been planning since I bought a new rc boat. I had heard a Traxxas is a really good remote control boat so I chose the most inexpensive model they make which is the “Blast”. The boat didn’t come with a battery or charger like most of the other ones I have did. The boat itself was about $100, my choice of battery was a Venom 7.2 volt 2400mah nicad which proved to be very impressive since I’m used to using 1800mah. The battery made a huge difference, and is just what I needed for the new boat’s fishing trip.
Second part of this story is the fishing part. My buddy Wally and I bought 2 Fish Fun “RC Fishing Poles”. I put my “RC Fishing Pole” on the Traxxas Blast rc boat. Wally put his “RC Fishing Pole” on the Ed Hardy remote control boat, (with a different top on it). So, we didn’t have much luck with catching any fish, but we had a “blast”. Speaking of a blast, I really liked the Traxxas boat I used. Wally used the line release pads, so if a big fish hit his worm, the line will disconnect. In the video he says his boat wouldn’t work, it was our remote controller frequency’s were the same so when mine was on his boat wouldn’t work. “The RC Fishing Pole” is really cool, it’s a kit will turn any remote control boat into a rc fishing boat, comes with bobber, line and hook too, you can get it and a bunch of other cool remote control fishing boats at http://rcfishingworld.com

Well, not quite, but I do know I was bass fishing from a dock, and a couple of bass were following the boat around. Hopefully a new video will appear soon so I can see it in action. The Birth of Remote Control Fishing
7 MayRemote Control Fishing began with some kids tying fishing line to a remote control toy boat, and catching a catfish with it. Now, that looks like good clean fun. They almost sank their rc boat. Mmm, looks like someone forgot their (“RC Fishing Pole”)
Maybe this was their inspiration, what gave the kids the idea?
There’s a saying “Necessity is the mother of invention”, which in the case of RC Fishing, it basically means, there had to be a way to do it without the rc boat sinking when the fish hit the hook.
Those kids, that simple video, and ingenuity may have started this new phenomonen. It even has a name now, it’s now officially called Remote Control Fishing, We still just call it RC Fishing.
So, that was then, and this is now.
Remember Flash Gordon?…, Lost in Space, or My Favorite Martian? Have you thought about futuristic things, like “going places man has never gone before”? I do all the time, that’s the thing I like about RC Fishing. The words REMOTE CONTROLLER, or RADIO TRANSMITTER remind me when I was a kid, if it flew, or buzzed, with the push of a button, I wanted it, battery operated toys were the future. Just wait till I beam me up a Big Bass! Mmm, it sounds pretty scientific. But,…….. I’m going to give this Remote Control Fishing a try!
Here is Wikipedia’s definition of the new phenomenon called rc fishing. Why do they have to be so scientific, can’t they just say rigging a rc boat to catch a fish?
“Quoted” from Wikipedia -”Remote control fishing – Fishing can also be done using a remote controlled boat. The boat is usually one to three feet long and runs on a small DC battery. A radio transmitter controls the boat. The fisherman connects the fishing line/bait to the boat; drives it; navigating the water by manipulating the remote controller. The technique is growing in popularity. The methods of remote control vary, from tying a piece of fishing line and bait to the boat, and driving,(retrieving) the hooked fish, with the boat. Another method is using an apparatus designed so that once the fish is hooked the line disconnects from the boat, and the fish is retrieved with the fishing rod.”

Catch of my Life, Remote Control R/C Fishing Style!
4 Dec- Bought my r/c fishing boat at Http://www.rcfishingworld.com
- r/c fishing boats
I couldn’t wait to try out“The R/C Fishin’ Pole”, I had this cool new r/c fishing boat I bought at Rc Fishing World . I couldn’t ask for a better sunny day to try it out. There’s a bay at the corner of the lake, it’s kinda shallow, with some lily pads, I fiqure there are probably some fish swimming under them. Attaching “The R/C Pole” to the boat was easy.
Easy enough, I put the rc boat in the water, hit the button, then zoom, there goes the worm! Wow, now I thought that was cool, there was a different feeling, I’m used to casting, so this was new to me. Well, I had a bobber on it to so there’s the r/c boat out there, the bobber’s bobbin.
Nothing happining.., so I decide to move,(drive) the r/c boat about 10 feet to the right. Wow, now that was cool, I just drove my worm to another spot, instead of haveing to reel it in and cast again the rc boat drives to another spot! So, there it is now and still nothing….I’m wondering…did the rc boat scare the fish?
I drove the r/c boat again another 10 feet…..and watched the bobber patiently. I imagined the fish laughing, looking at the worm, and seeing the r/c boat, maybe, if fish can think, then the whole set-up was too obvious.
Then as sure as I’m sittin here right now, the bobber goes under! The line snaps off the r/c boat, and I’ve “got em”! Whatever it is…it’s big! The feeling at that point is “exileratig”, I caught one with a “Remote Control Boat”! It’s a Bass!
Now, if I could describe the look on the fishs face, complete shock! The fish did’nt know what to think, what a tale he would tell his buddy’s, I doubt they are going to believe him. Kind of like being picked up by a UFO!
I wish I had a camera that day cause I swear “Fishes CAN make faces at you”, He had a look on his face like he was caught by a UFO
and I was an alien from MARS with my r/c fishing boat!!It was so funny I almost lost my drawrs right there!
I did let him go…..but, I’ll bet the fish is a celebrity in the lake, The fish newspaper probably said “Bass abducted by UFO”
